Pierre Musitelli
I am currently an associate professor at the École normale supérieure in Paris and the deputy director of the Institute of Modern Texts and Manuscripts (ITEM, CNRS/ENS). My work mainly focuses on the Milanese Enlightenment (Verri, Beccaria) and on the intellectual exchanges between Italy and Europe during the long 18th century. My research interests also include the circulation and patrimonial legacy of Italian manuscripts (14th-20th c.) and the constitution of the literary canon (18th-19th c.).
In 2021, my project on a little-known corpus of 18th-century Italian novels and their circulation in Enlightenment Europe was awarded a five-year research grant by the Institut universitaire de France (IUF).
